Mission Statement

World Children’s Initiative Inc. (“WCI”) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving and rebuilding the healthcare and educational infrastructure for children in developing areas both domestically and worldwide.  WCI firmly believes that only through adequate health and educational initiatives will the bodies, minds and hearts of destitute children worldwide be properly nourished and prepared for successful and productive lives.  WCI seeks to accomplish this goal through strategic partnerships with U.S. and foreign corporations, leading universities and academic institutions, and governmental and non-governmental entities, who are operating to serve this population.

Dr. Kanishka Ratnayaka and his mother

Spirit of WCI

One of our founders and his mother strategically pick up re-usable shingles buried within the rubble from the aftermath of Tsunami 2004 to help re-build the local community.

The three founders help create the makeshift medical clinic delivering care to tsunami victims.  Although an important element in the rebuilding process, we realized the short-lived impact of their efforts.  As a result, we wanted to build something more resolute and permanent, something that was better than what existed before.

This concept of “building back better” or rehabilitation captures the spirit of WCI.  It serves as the guiding principle of our projects…
