World Children’s Initiative will be honoring Mark Ward at the 10th Anniversary Benefits Gala.

Mark S. Ward is a Career Minister in the Senior Foreign Service of the United States. He is currently co-chair with Russia and the UN of a special task force in Geneva to improve humanitarian access for Syrian towns besieged by the Government and ISIS. Mr. Ward was the 2006 winner of the Service to America Medal for his reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of the 2005 Asian Tsunami. It was during this work that Mr. Ward first became familiar with World Children’s Initiative. Mr. Ward inspired and advised WCI during its formative stage, and was instrumental in helping WCI secure seed-funding for its maiden project, Project Peds: Sri Lanka.
